Iberdrola has announced that its Windanker offshore wind project has entered delivery phase. The 315MW power plant in Germany requires a total investment of approximately €1bn.
This is Iberdrola's third utility-scale offshore project in the German Baltic Sea. The first two were the 350MW Wikinger and the 467MW Baltic Eagle projects.
Windanker is designed to meet the power demands of 315,000 homes per year, avoiding the emission of approximately 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The power plant should be fully operational by 2026.
