A final investment decision (FID) on the Kaminho project has been taken by TotalEnergies and partners. The deepwater project is located offshore Angola and encompasses the development of the Cameia and Golfinho fields.
Partners in the initiative include Petronas (with a 40% stake) and Sonangol (20%). TotalEnergies is Kaminho's operator and owner of the remaining 40%.
Kaminho is considered the first major deepwater project in the Kwanza Basin, located 100km off the coast and in a water depth of approximately 1,700 metres. Its development plan covers the installation of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit.
Operations are scheduled for 2028, with peak production calculated to reach 70,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
