Chevron has closed a farm-in deal with National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) for Petroleum Exploration Licence (PEL) 82. With this, Chevron now holds an 80% operatorship stake in PEL 82.
Chevron already operates PEL 90 in Namibia's the Orange Basin. PEL 82's remaining 20% share are owned by NAMCOR and Custos Energy with 10% each.
The licence covers blocks 2112B and 2212A in the Walvis Basin offshore Namibia. The licence's prospects have already been confirmed by two previous drillings at Murombe-1 and Wingat-1 wells.
