New Fortress Energy has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC) by a consortium formed formed by Mitsubishi Power and Andrade Gutierrez. The contract is related to a 1.6GW power plant project in Brazil.
Construction will begin right away next to the Barcarena LNG terminal in the northern state of Pará. The facility already has a 15-year capacity reserve contract with Denham Capital and CEIBA Energy in place.
Commercial operations are scheduled for 2026.
