Saudi Aramco has recently announced the award of three major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for its expansion project of the Fadhili gas plant in Saudi Arabia. Combined, these contracts are valued at US$7.7bn.
The contractors are Samsung Engineering Company, GS Engineering & Construction Corporation and Nesma & Partners.
The expansion project seeks to increase Fadhili's gas processing capacity from 2.5 to 4 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd). This additional 1.5 bscfd of processing capacity is part of Saudi Aramco's efforts to raise its gas production by over 60% by 2030.
Conclusion of works is scheduled for November 2027.
