QatarEnergy has firmed a long-term sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Excelerate Energy for the delivery of Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh. According to the SPA, Excelerate will receive up to 1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from QatarEnergy for a period 15 years.
The LNG will be delivered to floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) starting in January 2026.
The amount of LNG to be delivered will start in 0.85mtpa in 2026 and 2027, increasing to 1mtpa from 2028 to 2040.
