The Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) has granted Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) approval to move on with the acquisition of up to 999MW of renewable generation in the US.
The acquisition includes three projects initially solely developed by Invenergy, they are the 200MW Mooringsport solar plant Caddo Parish, Louisiana; the 200.6MW Diversion wind farm in Baylor County, Texas; and the 598.4MW Wagon Wheel wind farm in various counties in Oklahoma.
Invenergy is understood to still carry out construction.
The agreement is part of SWEPCO's efforts to compensate the retirement of its aging generation facilities with renewable energy.
