Edison has started operations at the revamped Marghera Levante gas-fired thermal power plant in Mestre, near Venice, Italy. The 766MW facility is able to run using natural gas as well as hydrogen.
Marghera Levante's update project involved up to 1,000 workers and 250 suppliers over a four-year period. Total investment was approximately €400m.
Through the project, Edison carried out the installation of 525MW class-H heat recovery steam generation (HRSG) turbines and a  265MW steam turbine (TVB). These were supplied by Ansaldo Energia.
