Mainstream Renewable Power, Reventus Power, AGL, and DIREC Infrastructure have submitted for government approval feasibility studies for the development of an offshore wind farm off the coast of Australia.
The 2.5GW plant will be built in the Bass Strait off Gippsland, Victoria. According to the consortium, the project can potentially generate over AUD 3.7bn of added value as well as create more than 8,600 full-time jobs.
The developers’ investment for this initiative also includes an amount of AUD 400m for improvements in workforce skills and the local supply chain.
