Cheniere Energy has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Korea Southern Power Co. (KOSPO).
According to the SPA, KOSPO will receive 0.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from Cheniere between 2027 and 2046. A smaller amount will be sold annually starting in 2025.
The supply from 2028 to 2046 is still subject to a final investment decision (FID) on the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Expansion Project’s first train. The project will install up to three liquefaction trains, with a total production estimated at 20mtpa.
