BW Energy has announced the production of first oil from the Hibiscus/Ruche project under the Dussafu licence. Located offshore Gabon, the first development phase of the field has just been completed.
DHIBM-3H is the well where first oil was reached. Oil was drilled by the Borr Norve jack-up rig and transported to the BW Adolo FPSO, which will process and storage the material before oil tankers arrive for offloading.
The DHIBM-3H well currently performs according to initial predictions and production is calculated to be 6,000 barrels per day.
The first phase of the Hibiscus/Ruche development continues until early 2024. Once fully operational, it will have an oil production capacity of 30,000 barrels per day.
