The Energy Industries Council (EIC) is working on behalf of a client to identify companies with technology and equipment to clean and remove marine growth, debris, and bird guano from offshore wind turbine access platforms. This technology may come from offshore wind, oil and gas, marine infrastructure, or other relevant sectors.
Current cleaning methods include high-pressure jet washing and scraping involving lengthy visits to each WTG platform. The requirement from the client is that companies with alternative cleaning methods come forward including those that can shorten the cleaning process and therefore time spent at each offshore turbine position. Cleaning methods should remove marine growth and bird droppings without damaging painted surfaces below and should lead to no other/minimal adverse impact to the environment.
Criteria:
- Track record or application of cleaning method in a relevant environment (offshore or marine).
- Cleaning solution does not negatively impact environment or biodiversity.
- Ability to support projects in the UK / continental Europe.
