Hitachi Energy has been selected by Equinor and Polenergia for the design of an electrical system at the Baltyk II and III offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, Poland.
According to the contract, besides the electrical system design, Hitachi Energy will also be responsible for a system study analysis as well as the integration of all equipment to be acquired from contractors.
Telecom network, overall power control system, high voltage equipment and turnkey delivery of the onshore substation will also be delivered by Hitachi Energy.
The facilities, planned to sump up 1.44GW of installed capacity, will be built off the coast of the Leba port. Final investment decision (FID) is expected in 2024, with commissioning scheduled for 2027.
