UK Market Momentum
The UK energy sector continues to evolve rapidly, driven by ambitious decarbonisation targets and policy support:
• Solar remains a major growth area, with 356 projects in the pipeline representing 28GW of capacity as the UK works toward its 70GW by 2035 target.
• Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) the UK market is moving forward and with government funds supporting the progress of project developments, the first FIDs are expected in the next 12-24 months.
• Onshore wind is accelerating, with 301 projects and 21GW in development, supporting the ambition to double capacity by 2030.
• Offshore wind remains a cornerstone sector, with 92 projects totalling more than 110GW — including significant growth in floating wind and upcoming leasing rounds.
• CCS and hydrogen continue to mature, with a number of projects progressing toward FID, strengthening the UK’s position in the global energy transition.
