About this event

Powering Progress: The UK's Nuclear Future

Nuclear has a long history in the UK. Currently we have nine operational reactors across four locations totalling 6 GWe, and in 2023 nuclear accounted for around 15% of the UK’s electricity generation. The government is looking to increase this up to 25% by 2050, with a target to install 24 GWe. However, the industry will need to move faster if we are going to meet this figure.

With more pressure to meet its net zero target by 2050, is nuclear power the way to go?

Unlike conventional giga-scale plants, small modular reactors (SMRs) offer greater site flexibility for construction and deployment, scalability of manufacturing, and potential reductions in CAPEX.

Join us … as we discuss the UK’s nuclear future in more detail, hear from industry leaders on what opportunities are available for the UK supply chain to support the nuclear sector now and into the future.
